Vermont Electric Cooperative Members- Be Alert to Phone Scams

Johnson, VT- Vermont Electric Cooperative wants members to be vigilant about phone scams that threaten people with electricity disconnection if they do not make an immediate payment of funds.  The caller will act as if they are representing their electric utility and give the person a number to call to make their payment.  When they call that number they might even hear a recording claiming to be the electric utility.

Wind Event Caused Outages - Power Restored to 2,500 VEC Members

Johnson, Vt.- A significant wind event began as expected Wednesday afternoon and continued into the early morning hours on Thursday.  Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) field and control room staff were able to respond promptly to restore power to over 2,500 members who lost power due to strong winds that downed trees and power lines.
