Vt Attorney General Launches “Scam Buster” Campaign

Williston, VT – Vermont Attorney General T.J. Donovan joined with Vermont power companies, businesses, and residents to launch a new campaign to protect Vermonters from being scammed by people pretending to be a utility. These scammers call residents and businesses demanding immediate payment for electricity with a credit card, pre-paid card or money order. Utilities report these scams are increasing and scammers are becoming more sophisticated and tech savvy in their scams.

Governor Phil Scott Honors Electrical Lineworkers From Vermont Utilities

Montpelier, VT – Governor Phil Scott today honored electrical lineworkers from Vermont’s electric utilities. The Governor hosted a recognition event in his State House ceremonial office during which he praised Vermont’s lineworkers for their hard work and dedication and presented a proclamation he signed on Tuesday in recognition of National Electric Utility Lineworker Appreciation Day.

Vermont Electric Cooperative Announces Peter Rossi as New Chief Operating Officer

Johnson, VT- Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) is pleased to announce that Peter Rossi has joined VEC as Chief Operating Officer (COO), a key position in VEC’s senior leadership team.  As COO, Rossi will be responsible for overseeing engineering and operations for the co-op, which serves approximately 32,000 members over 2,000 square miles of Northern Vermont.

Vermont Electric Cooperative Statement on Cyber Security

Johnson, VT- In regard to the recent Department of Homeland Security malware code alert, VEC has no evidence of a threat to our system.  VEC recently participated in a rigorous Risk Vulnerability Assessment with the Department of Homeland Security and has complied with the White House security protocol, C2M2, since 2012. Cyber security is part of our overall safety program which involves review by the
