Vermont Electric Co-op Brings on Two New Solar Arrays

Johnson, VT - Vermont Electric Co-op (VEC) recently announced the opening of two new VEC Co-op Community Solar projects. The commissioning of the two solar projects - one in Hinesburg and one in Grand Isle - caps a two-year VEC effort to install long-term, cost-effective, solar arrays in three locations in VEC territory.

Vermont Electric Cooperative Earns Prestigious Health and Safety Certification

Johnson, VT – Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) has earned high-level health and safety recognition from the Vermont Department of Labor after a rigorous review of company operations and management. The certification comes through the Green Mountain Voluntary Protection Program, which is administered by the Vermont Occupational Safety and Health Administration (VOSHA). The program is the state version of the federal Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).

Vermont Electric Cooperative Holds Rates Steady for Fourth Consecutive Year

Johnson, VT - Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) will not seek a rate increase for January 2018, marking the fourth consecutive year that VEC has kept rates flat. Earlier in the year, VEC anticipated that a rate increase would be necessary, but VEC staff worked hard to identify savings in power supply and transmission as well as in other areas.

Unprecedented Wind Storm Affects VEC Service Territory- 17,000 Members Restored By Saturday

Johnson, VT- By mid-day Saturday, Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) had restored power to just under 40% of its service territory, repairing over 374 separate outages that impacted over 17,000 members.  All hands were on deck all week to respond to this unique and challenging event.  As VEC worked to wrap up the final power restorations, employees wanted Co-op members to know how appreciative they are for their patience and support during what was a multiple day outage for many members.
