“We feel really good about participating in this new program,” said Michael Desautels, owner of The UPS Store in Newport. “We can increase the visibility of our business and at the same time offer discounts to VEC members, who, after all, are our friends and neighbors.”

Jake Brown, VEC Energy Services Planner, said the co-op was proud to offer the new benefit to members. “It’s good for our members and for businesses right here in our community,” he said. “It’s also a great example of the key co-op principle of ‘neighbor helping neighbor.’”

Brown added that businesses can participate for free and discontinue at any time. VEC will also help set up their postings and discounts. Business owners can learn more here: https://www.vermontelectric.coop/member-discount-program
