Vermont law requires all Vermont utilities to file a “least cost integrated plan for the provision of energy services to its Vermont customers” every three years.  VEC filed its IRP on November 30, 2011 and the plan is presently being reviewed by the Public Service Board.  A copy of this plan can by found by clicking here.

The integrated resource plan evaluates VEC energy needs and the options available that will supply those needs in the least-cost manner.  It also looks at VEC’s capital spending projected over the next three years to identify system improvements that will enhance system reliability and member service.

Consistent with our 2012 strategic plan, our 2012 IRP includes action plans designed around four goals:

1. To minimize costs
2. To stabilize rates within a volatile electricity market
3. To improve or maintain financial health and bond rating, and
4. To improve reliability and the quality of electric service
