Johnson – Vermont Electric Cooperative (VEC) officials announced that Senator Patrick Leahy will tour VEC’s Smart Grid Control Center on Monday, August 8 at 10:15 A.M. at VEC headquarters. Senator Leahy is expected to congratulate VEC on receiving Power magazine’s first ever Smart Grid Award earlier this week. This prestigious award recognizes VEC’s national leadership role in deploying its smart grid.  

Media representatives are encouraged to join Senator Leahy’s tour of VEC’s Smart Grid Control Center.  He will briefly respond to questions regarding smart grid initiatives.
