Vermont Electric Cooperative, Inc. (VEC) is a member-owned, not-for-profit electric cooperative providing distribution and local transmission services in Vermont. The majority of transmission services provided are under various Vermont Public Service Board jurisdictional transmission agreements between VEC and other Vermont electric utilities and a small power producer.

On August 5, 2004 FERC granted VEC a waiver of the Standards of Conduct requirements of Order No. 2004. Effective August 8, 2005, pursuant to the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (Section 201(f) of the Federal Power Act as amended) VEC became a non-FERC jurisdictional entity.

VEC does offer open access transmission services under ISO New England Inc.’s Open Access Transmission Tariff (OATT).

• VEC provides point to point service over the Phase I/II HVDC transmission facilities under OATT FERC Electric Tariff No. 3 Section II – Schedule 20A-VEC.
