Each November VEC employees participated in the annual turkey drive but their generosity and concern for community doesn’t stop there. Two individuals from the Member Service Team spearhead the tradition of VEC adopting a family during the Christmas holidays. Each year we receive the name(s) of a family within the community in need of some help, and VEC anonymously makes their holiday a little happier. 

In December of 2009, through the generosity of our employees, VEC adopted three families. Employee donations ranged from money, toys and clothing, to gift cards for groceries and gas.

To conclude the Adopt a Family project, employees held a pot luck luncheon and took turns wrapping gifts for the families. Employees from the Member Service Team delivered the gifts to the selected families in time for the holidays. We look forward to making the holidays brighter for members in our communities again for years to come.
