Jacek Szamrej Receives MultiSpeak Certification

Published 02/27/2009
Johnson, VT—Jacek Szamrej, IT Manager at Vermont Electric Cooperative, Inc.(VEC), became certified as a MultiSpeak Integrator at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s (NRECA) annual TechAdvantage conference in New Orleans on February 11, 2009.

MultiSpeak is a communication specification that enables multiple systems to speak to each other resulting in a high level of application integration. NRECA initiated the creation of MultiSpeak in January 2000 and hundreds of electric cooperatives throughout the US are currently utilizing it. MultiSpeak will play an important role in future Smart Grid projects.

“VEC is currently a leader in the State with the implementation of its Automated Meter Information (AMI) system,” said Dave Hallquist, CEO. “Jacek’s recent certification in Multispeak gives VEC an edge as a technological leader in the utility industry as the State moves toward implementing future Smart Grid projects and we are extremely fortunate to employee him.”

Szamrej has been VEC’s IT Manager for over three years. Prior to joining VEC he was Manager of Research and Development at one of the largest software companies in Warsaw, Poland and also worked in the power industry on SCADA systems.
