VEC First Class Lineworker Injured |
Published 09/28/2006 Johnson, Vermont - An employee of Vermont Electric Cooperative, Inc. has been seriously injured in an electrical incident which occurred early this morning at VEC’s Richford substation in Richford, Vermont. The employee is being hospitalized and there is no public information available on his condition at this time.
David Hallquist, CEO of Vermont Electric Cooperative, has been at the scene of the incident and an investigation has begun. Hallquist immediately reported the accident to pertinent government agencies. “This is an extremely serious matter,” Hallquist said, “I have ordered a full investigation by an outside engineering firm. Their professional investigation must be expedited with thoroughness and complete impartiality.” Hallquist said that further information will be reported as VEC learns more about the events leading up to the incident.
